These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Proteinix mobile application ("Proteinix", "the app", "we", "our"). By creating an account or otherwise using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. Who we are

2. What Proteinix does

Proteinix helps you track nutrition, hydration, steps, and sleep, and uses AI (Google's Gemini models) to identify food from photos or spoken/typed descriptions and estimate its calories and macronutrients. It also includes an AI Coach that gives suggestions based on your logged data.

A free tier covers manual logging and your full dashboard. A paid tier, Proteinix Premium, unlocks unlimited AI food scanning, unlimited voice logging, and priority AI coaching, as described in Section 5.

3. Eligibility and your account

4. Not medical advice

Proteinix is a general wellness and nutrition-tracking tool. It is not a medical device, and nothing in the app — including calorie/macro estimates, AI Coach suggestions, or sleep and activity summaries — is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a substitute for care from a qualified physician, dietitian, or other healthcare professional.

Always consult a doctor before starting a new diet or exercise routine, especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a history of disordered eating. If you experience a medical emergency, contact emergency services immediately — do not rely on the app.

5. AI-generated content and accuracy

Food recognition, calorie and macro estimates, and AI Coach responses are generated by AI models and are estimates, not guarantees. They can be inaccurate or incomplete — that's why the app shows a confidence indicator on scanned meals and encourages you to double-check results that look off. You're responsible for how you use this information, including any nutrition or fitness decisions you make based on it.

6. Subscriptions, billing & cancellation

  • Proteinix Premium is a [weekly / monthly / annual — describe your actual billing cycle(s)] auto-renewing subscription, purchased and billed through Google Play Billing.
  • Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal.
  • Cancel anytime from your Google Play account's subscription settings — cancelling stops future renewals but doesn't refund the current billing period.
  • Refunds are handled according to Google Play's refund policies, not directly by us.
  • We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status across devices; see the Privacy Policy for what that involves.
  • We may change Premium's price or features going forward; changes won't apply retroactively to a period you've already paid for.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of the meals, photos, goals, and other information you log ("your content"). By using the app, you give us a limited license to store, process, and use your content solely to provide and improve the app's features — including sending photos and descriptions to Google's Gemini API for food recognition, as described in the Privacy Policy. You're responsible for making sure your content doesn't violate anyone else's rights or applicable law.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the app for anything unlawful, or to harass, abuse, or harm another person
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the app's source code or AI prompts
  • Interfere with the app's infrastructure, probe its security, or access another user's account without authorization
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the app outside of its normal user interface
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the app without our written permission

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

9. Intellectual property

The Proteinix name, logo, app design, and underlying software are owned by [YOUR LEGAL NAME / COMPANY NAME] and protected by intellectual property law. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding beyond what's needed to use the app normally.

10. Third-party services

Proteinix relies on third-party services to work — including Google (Gemini AI, Sign-In, Play Billing, Health Connect), Supabase (backend hosting), and RevenueCat (subscription management). Your use of the app is also subject to those providers' own terms, and we're not responsible for outages or changes on their end that affect Proteinix.

11. Termination

  • You can stop using Proteinix at any time, and permanently delete your account and data from Profile → Delete account.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the app, or if required by law.
  • Sections that by their nature should survive termination (like Sections 4, 5, 9, 12, and 13) continue to apply after your account is closed.

12. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. We don't guarantee that AI-generated estimates will be error-free, or that the app will always be available without interruption.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, [YOUR LEGAL NAME / COMPANY NAME] will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including decisions made based on AI-generated nutrition or coaching content.
